Dear customers, to enjoy our products for a long time, it is important to wash them correctly and to pay attention to their special properties.
Wool is dirt-repellent and should therefore be washed as little as possible.
ALWERO PRODUCTS should, if possible, not be washed at all.
Often, good aeration overnight (e.g., by an open window or on the balcony) is sufficient to neutralize odors. Wool textiles can be shaken out easily, as dirt is often only superficial due to the scaly structure of wool. Furthermore, impurities can be brushed out or wiped off with a damp cloth. Vigorous rubbing should always be avoided, as it can cause the fibers to felt.
Pilling (the formation of small knots) in wool is a natural process and unavoidable with regular use. The softer the yarn, the more likely pilling will occur. Accordingly, pilling particularly occurs with fine wool fibers. To treat pilling, we recommend brushing, and washing delicate garments inside out.
Care instructions for wool textiles
Wool textiles can be washed either by hand or in a washing machine on a wool or hand wash cycle. Again, please do not rub vigorously or wring to prevent the wool from felting.
Hand wash
When hand washing, it is very important that the water is not too hot (maximum 30 degrees!). Please always use wool detergent. Brief, gentle swirling and soft pressing will keep wool soft and elastic. Absolutely avoid prolonged soaking. Then rinse thoroughly with water. The rinse water should be the same temperature as the wash water, as wool cannot tolerate temperature shock, or it will shrink and felt. Before drying, you can roll it in a towel and gently squeeze it. Then carefully pull it into shape and, if possible, dry it flat.
Wool wash cycle
When machine washing, wash at a maximum of 20 degrees. Cold washing is even better, as there will be no sudden temperature drop. A small amount of wool detergent is sufficient, and the washing drum should not be overloaded. When machine washing, a low spin speed is particularly important (preferably no more than 400 revolutions), as excessive spinning promotes the natural felting process of wool.
ALWERO products must not be spun.

If textiles are heavily soiled, pre-treating stains with gall soap is recommended. After washing, also pull into shape while wet and dry flat. Please do not tumble dry or dry on a heater, as this will make the wool hard and felted.
Note:
Every washing machine is different. Please check the program settings before the first wash and, if in doubt, wash cold, by hand, or preferably not at all.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee against defects after machine washing.
